GREETINGS FROM YOUR EXALTED RULER...

This is the end, my friends! At the start of the new lodge year, I will be changing seats from the ER to the Secretary. Thank you for all of your help over the past two years and for letting me serve the Elks in such a capacity. It was a challenge at times, but I certainly learned a lot. I hope to see you all at the bar for many decades to come!

And now a message from your new ER, Michele Upton:

Dear Elks, we have BOTH the Leading Knight and Loyal Knight officer positions vacant. The description of the duties from our bylaws is here:

OF THE ESTEEMED LEADING, LOYAL, AND LECTURING KNIGHTS Section 3. Except as otherwise provided by Statute, it shall be the duty of the Esteemed Leading Knight, Esteemed Loyal Knight and Esteemed Lecturing Knight to assist the Exalted Ruler in the performance of his duties as stated above and to officiate for him in his absence, in the order of their rank named in the Constitution; and they shall each be invested at such times with his full powers and prerogatives, and subject to his duties. In the absence of the Exalted Ruler, the Officer next in rank shall organize the Lodge and designate the Members who shall fill the vacancies during the meeting, or until the absent Officers appear, when the latter must take their official places in the Lodge. They shall also perform the duties pertaining to their offices, as provided by the Laws and Ritual, and any other duties imposed upon them by the Lodge. The Leading Knight shall attend all officially called District Deputy Clinics for his Lodge unless excused for good cause shown to the District Deputy with jurisdiction.

I hope you will consider taking one of these positions to help facilitate the life of your lodge. You are needed!

Forever in Elkdom,
    Branden Johnson, ER

FROM THE SECRETARY...

The invoices for the 2019 - 2020 Elk Membership dues have been mailed out. Remember you can pay your dues online at https://tiffinelks.com/pay-dues.cfm anytime. Included with your invoice are 3 raffle tickets for the Ohio Elks Charity Program, remember to fill them out if you choose to purchase them. The raffle is for multiple $500 prizes that will be drawn on April 6th at the state convention -- make sure you get them in before then! Please consider donating to the Elks National Foundation (ENF) and Cerebral Palsy (CP) Major Project- both are great charities!

We are implementing a new policy at the club starting April 1st. If you have not paid your dues and you visit the bar after the 1st, you will have to pay your dues that night before you can make any purchases.

And with that, we have my last newsletter, ladies and gents!  It has been an honor to serve as secretary over the past two years.  But no worries! I will be helping Branden with all the duties as a part of Team Johnson.  You can’t get rid of me that easily :)

Respectfully Yours,
    Laura Johnson, Secretary
